DETRÁS DE MIS HERIDAS
(BEHIND MY WOUNDS)
Behind My Wounds originated as a piece created in response to an invitation to an exhibition in Torreón, Mexico, where each artist was to draw inspiration from an assigned text. In my case, within the text I selected from two possibilities, I found a line containing the phrase "behind my wounds," which I found evocative. The piece was exhibited in the middle of a shopping center in Torreón, and I created it using cardboard scraps, primarily from beer and cookie boxes, which I cut into strips and then intertwined like a basket or in the style of basket weaving. The base is made of MDF from kitchen scraps, the piping is recycled PVC, and it has a metal flange. It will be included in an exhibition catalog.
Woven cardboard, MDF, PVC, metal, and acrylic.
