FINI AWARD 2023
This triptych is a conceptual nexus between identity, geography, and materiality. Focused on the Tarahumara indigenous community of Northern Mexico, the series uses recycled cardboard and found fragments as a metaphorical commentary on marginalization and cultural resilience.
The use of collage, which juxtaposes traditional Mexican textiles and symbolic elements, transforms waste material into a potent form of social and visual critique. The series was recognized for its innovative use of media, obtaining Second Place in the Professional Category – Alternative Techniques at the International Image Festival (FINI 2023).
