MÁQUINA MACABRA: EL COLLAGE DIGITAL (2019)
MACABRE MACHINE: THE DIGITAL COLLAGE (2019)
(Digital Collage Animation Short Film, created on tablet)
Technical Data: Digital collage animation (photography and video), created entirely on tablet.
Curatorial Synopsis:
Macabre Machine is a critical animation piece that exposes the structural violence implicit in the construction of feminine identity. The work is set in a conceptual "Doll Factory" where figures are assembled based on classical iconography (Venus de Botticelli) and conditioned to follow rigid behavioral patterns.
The narrative shows the intervention of a "Creator Hand" that violates and destroys figures deviating from the norm. The process, created entirely on a tablet using digital collage, serves as a critique of how media and data "manufacture" identities. The film concludes with the statistic of women murdered in Mexico in 2019, exposing the cold reality underlying the cultural construct.
