MARÍA
A cynical meditation on contemporary mestizaje, where the Catrina iconography, rendered via woodcut print (xilografía), is recontextualized as a pattern of consumption. This figure is, in essence, a post-colonial deconstruction, assembled from the gluttonous residue of magazines, cementing the intersection of a Mexican artist with strong ties in Austria.
