CARAMEL PINK (2026)
A tribute to the beauty and exuberance of Norma Jean, Marilyn Monroe
This piece was made entirely automatically, on SELF-HANDMADE paper and painted hastily with a spatula.
These alternative macros are of the painting itself, but were captured with a Canon camera + mechanical adapter + 50mm Nikkor lens + lens hood and a cheap magnifying glass taped on. The result is macros with distorted corners, possessing an aesthetic of desire and intensity reminiscent of lava, a vortex-like effect on Marilyn Monroe's skin. The triptych was printed for its exhibition at Kunsthaus Weiz in a 60 x 40 cm format and will be a limited edition of only 10 photographs, printed with pigment inks on Fomei Photo Matt - 230gsm paper. They will be exhibited for the first time in METAMORPHOSIS, my exhibition at Kunsthaus Weiz, Austria, from June to September 2026.
