SYSTEMIC FRAGMENTS
The works within SYSTEMIC FRAGMENTS explore the concept of dystopia and excessive authority, often drawing inspiration from film imagery to articulate their thesis. This sub-series uses discarded material—the matter of the system itself—as the primary support, establishing a direct physical critique. Pieces like AUTONOMOUS EFFORT dissect the relationship between physical obedience and automated control, analyzing how authoritarian structures are reflected in the fragmentation of the human form and the environment.
Title: AUTONOMUS EFFORT
Medium: Ink, brush, and Prismacolor on waste Cardboard (Robot vacuum cleaner)
Size: 37 x 45 cm
Year: 2025
A dystopic study of control and physical obedience. It is inspired by a black and white Scandinavian film, set in a dystopian environment and in some kind of prison where those involved go out to play an extravagant match of some non-existent sport. Executed on discarded cardboard from an autonomous cleaner, the work links this mandated effort to a critique of automation. The use of ink and Prismacolor on this rough material emphasizes the tension between the fluid, dynamic action and the discarded system that governs them.
